The Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises is a national confederative and intersectoral business organisation for the defense, representation and promotion of the interests of small and medium enterprises and self-employed entrepreneurs.

CEPYME is recognised as the most representative business organisation at state level. Within the framework of the functions and powers indicated in the seventh article of the Spanish Constitution, CEPYME pays attantion to the needs of information, advice, technical assistance, research and improvement of affiliated organizations, companies and entrepreneurs as well as studying and disseminating any issues that may affect the empowerment of small and medium-sized enterprises and self-employed entrepreneurs.

CEPYME was established on September 22, 1977 by twelve provincial territorial organisations. Currently, CEPYME is made up of 57 provincial and regional territorial organisations and 49 national sector organisations, which in turn group more than three thousand grassroots business organisations, representing  practically ninety-nine percent of existing SME associations. CEPYME brings the voice of small and medium-sised companies and self-employed entrepreneurs to the main Spanish and European Union institutions.
