The Patent Information Centre Dresden (PIZ) is your competent contact partner for all questions concerning patent information and research in the field of intellectual property rights, such as patents, trademarks and designs. PIZ Dresden is part of the TU Dresden Transfer Office and is an official cooperation partner of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office. As a facility of the university it supports students and scientists with their studies or research projects by aligning their individual knowledge to the current global state of the art technology. As a public institution, PIZ is also open to all interested persons, who would like information and support in the field of industrial property rights.
As part of the TU Dresden Transfer Office, the PIZ works closely with the group Transfer, as well as with the group Patents and Licenses.
The Patent Information Centre can offer support on the following questions:

- How can I protect my own ideas, inventions and developments?
- How do I protect myself against product or brand piracy?
