The search terms can be Spanish words, company names, application or publication numbers, etc. The search is performed in all fields of the database, including the full text in Spanish of all patents from 1940 to date. Many references, especially from 1986 onwards, also have an English title and abstract available, so searching with English words will also provide results, albeit much more limited than searching with Spanish words. Search terms are combined by default with the "and" operator, although it is also possible to combine them with other operators ("or", "not", etc.) and to use wildcards or truncations (see Help).
