The Anti-Counterfeiting Direct Line is a free service which offers consumers and businesses, in particular micro, small and medium-sized ones, assistance and information on the protection tools provided for by current legislation in the event of infringement of industrial property rights. It also allows for the activation of national and international law enforcement procedures. The service is run by specialised personnel of  the Finance Police, in coordination with the General Directorate for the Protection of Industrial Property at the Italian Patent and Trade mark Office, which receives and evaluates the reports submitted by users and operates in direct connection with the Police Forces (primarily the Special Units of the Finance Police) and the Customs and Monopoly Agency (in particular the Anti-Fraud Service).
